The new Martorell Judicial Building is located next to Martorell Central Station. The reduced dimensions of the site imply that the building reaches a certain slenderness, becoming a landmark in the immediate surroundings.

A sculptural volume is proposed, a unique volumetry with protruding elements on the east and west facades that act as a double skin of solar protection and form plant spaces as a backdrop to the offices.

From a distance, two superimposed and twinned volumes are visible, corresponding to two independent fire sectors. The lower volume houses the more public part of the building, while the upper volume is configured as a flexible office package.

At the entrance to the new courthouse, a platform is created that is visually linked to the wedding hall and the main lobby. A meeting and waiting space. The layout of the new access plaza emphasizes the condition of public building, slightly raising the first floor elevation, relating it to the city and the station.

The functional organization of the building is resolved from the point of view of energy efficiency and comfort.
The public circulations are located on the south façade, in an atrium that exploits its verticality to generate an attractive and representative space.
This space becomes a thermal and acoustic cushion with respect to the train tracks, protected by an opaque façade with different singular openings.

The project is committed to energy efficiency.
On the south façade, a backdrop of solar panels reflects the sun, producing a third of the energy needed by the building.
The multiple reflections and nuances give the building an immaterial and dynamic image in keeping with its location.
