On July 19 took place the ceremony of laying the first stone of the new courts of Martorell. The event was attended by the President of the Generalitat de Catalunya, Salvador Illa; the Minister of Justice, Ramon Espadaler; the President of the Superior Court of Justice, Mercè Caso; and the Mayor of Martorell, Xavier Fonollosa.

Two of the architects behind the project, Bernat Gato and Primitivo González, of CASA SOLO Arquitectos and Estudio González Arquitectos, explained the proposal to the authorities, emphasizing the volumetric response to the site, the division of circulations, the programmatic distribution and the technical complexity of the building.
The new courthouses, whose developer is Infraestructures de la Generalitat de Catalunya (on behalf of the Department of Justice) and which have a built-up area of 7,000 m2 and an award budget of some 19 million euros (excluding VAT), are expected to be completed in 2028.
