During the second quarter of 2025, the works of a modern clinical simulation center were completed, a space for training healthcare personnel at the Dr. Trueta University Hospital in Girona. Its purpose is to “recreate procedures in a controlled and realistic environment”, with the aim of preparing students and professionals for real situations. The works have been carried out on the third floor of the Edifici de Govern, annexed to the main block of the hospital.

This new center has several differentiated areas to develop training activities in different healthcare areas. The surgical simulation room is designed to reproduce complex scenarios in the operating room. The critical patient care room simulates a hospital box, allowing training in both medical techniques and coordination between the different specialists involved in the care of highly complex cases. All training is supervised from an adjoining technical room, where the session is directed, the requested data is provided and the response of the patient simulator is controlled in real time.

The spaces have been designed following criteria of friendliness and humanization of the spaces, with the comfort of the users in mind.
