The complete refurbishment of the ICO Badalona Hospitalization Unit on the 13th floor of the Germans Trias i Pujol Hospital (Can Ruti) has been completed. The project completely updates the hematopoietic transplant area, adapting it to current regulations and JACIE standards of quality and safety of care.

The new unit concentrates all care in an isolated area, equipped with ISO 6 classified rooms and controlled environment systems according to the UNE standard for medium-risk spaces. This reinforces the protection of immunosuppressed patients and improves infection control. The design also incorporates the ability to become an isolated unit for infectious patients in the event of future outbreaks of COVID-19 or other pandemics, increasing the hospital’s resilience.

The renovation includes 7 rooms and support spaces, configured to optimize work circuits and the comfort of patients and professionals, and oriented towards clinical excellence.
