The expansion of the Sierrallana Hospital provides the center with a new outpatient block in the northeastern part of the same plot of the hospital.
It is a new volume that is partially adapted to the existing architectural line, especially in terms of its geometry and finishes, but it is shown as a singular volume providing compositional richness to the whole.
The new block consists of 4 levels.
Half of the basement floor is used for consultation rooms and the rest for logistic premises.
The first floor houses the main entrance, consultation and examination rooms, together with the rehabilitation service at the rear.
The two upper levels continue to house consultations and rooms for other specialties.
The great challenge of this volumetry is to reduce to the maximum the height of the new block, of only three floors, in order to achieve a better integration within the existing complex.
The transition between the new block and the hospital is configured by means of an interior courtyard with plant species that will allow patients and staff to enjoy views and natural lighting.
