The Hospital de Sant Joan Despí Moisès Broggi was opened in February 2010. It belongs to the Integral Health System of public use (SISCAT) of Catalonia and is a provider center of the Catalan Health Service (Servei Català de la Salut). Due to the pandemic crisis caused by SARS-COV 2, the CSI was chosen by CatSalut as one of the five Catalan hospitals in which a new infrastructure of 4,600 m2, called Building B, was built.
The third floor of Building B was left diaphanous, without any work. The present project intervenes in all this third floor for the habilitation of different test cabinets and differentiated and grouped functional units, with the aim of expanding, modernizing and improving efficiency, both from the point of view of assistance and resources. The aim is to offer comprehensive care, allowing us to diagnose different pathologies of patients in our area, following the recommendations of scientific societies, based on the premise of the principle of optimizing resources, spaces that allow the medical act with privacy, reducing unnecessary travel and improving the satisfaction of families and professionals.
The relocation of different test cabinets is justified by the need to concentrate most of the outpatient diagnostic activities, freeing the current spaces that these cabinets occupy in the outpatient clinic of building A, currently with very high occupancy, in a new building, with an outpatient identity, with a delimited schedule, which excludes nights,
The location in this space of the functional units, currently dispersed in the outpatient clinic and the day hospital, will allow better coordination between the professionals of these units, guaranteeing the best care for patients. The project has been drafted with friendly design criteria, patient-centered and universal accessibility.
The project also includes the partial refurbishment of the ground floor and two spaces on the second floor and two spaces on the second floor of building B to relocate and expand the Day Hospital activity in building A.
