This hospital, opened in 1985, is dimensioned for the specific needs of the Vall d’Aran. Therefore, it has the full services corresponding to a standard hospital unit with 100 beds. Moreover there is an outpatient primary centre for the entire valley.
The centre design respond to the location and to the functional program, by using traditional materials and new technologies, which is solved using the minimum formal resources. He Tire profile defines the large porch, protected strong radiation, creates within it, in the room wait, a quiet and peaceful atmosphere.
From there, the great valley views are perceived clearly and, unlike traditional architecture, the structure allows permeability with the landscape and the creation of large empty spaces as it happens with the side glass facade.
