CRE-A Impresiones

Place: Barcelona, Spain Conclusion: 2007 Surface: 25.975 sqm

The building housing the Grupo Godó’s new printing house in Barcelona is divided into four blocks with the aim of reflecting in its form the order and organization of newspaper production: automated paper warehouse, offset rotary press, makeup and dispatch, and the offices and services building. The different spatial requirements of each of these areas are expressed as volumes with different forms and heights, with different construction and structural solutions. These differences are emphasized by highlighting either match or contrast, of materials and finishes used in different areas. The building presents its less industrial office volume to the street, with the taller buildings behind it, allowing for future growth at the rear of the plot.
