On May 21, the 1st Symposium on Architecture and Health took place at the Roca Gallery in Barcelona, organized by the Associació Catalana d’Entitats de Salut, ACES.
During the day of round tables many topics have been discussed: the management and maintenance in health centers, the Humanization and sustainability in hospitals and the energy efficiency.
“The last roundtable proposed ways to reduce the energy bill through energy efficiency. Esther Tomás, director of infrastructure and technology at the Vall d’Hebron Hospital in Barcelona, moderated the debate. Roger Pernas, managing partner of Casa Solo Arquitectos SLP, explained the project of the University Hospital Santa Lucía de Murcia, a paradigm of how to gain energy efficiency with an intelligent use of the constructive elements and a good fit of the building in the environment. ”
