This last May, our founder member, Roger Pernas, went to Bolivia to follow the progress of the El Alto Sur hospital, along with the health minister, Ariana Campero Nava and representatives of the neighborhood.
El Alto Sur hospital will have a capacity of 153 beds, 35 specialties and 80 services. Among the specialties typical of a third-level hospital there are the ICU, the surgical block, the neonatology unit or the nuclear medicine area.
Among the 80 services offered by the health center, we will find teaching, chemotherapy, hemodialysis or the obstetric support unit.
In addition, the hospital will have a bunker for a linear accelerator and radiation therapy services or chemotherapy area.
Currently, 30% of the work has been completed and its completion is expected in the first quarter 2019. This progress in the hospital’s works has had a great media impact in Bolivia. The ministry of health, television channels and local newspapers have broadcasted the new.
From CASA SOLO we are pleased with the evolution of the work and we hope to continue sharing future visits and advances in the construction of this hospital so significant for El Alto Sur in Bolivia.
